BTTM Programs Mission and Objectives

The mission of the BTTM program is to produce first level and middle management level tourism processionals to serve in the travel and tourism industry, both at the public and private sector.

The specific objectives of the program are to:

  • Gain an understanding of travel and tourism industry and its operations both theoretically and practically.
  •  Handle functions of international tourist service operations, including handling, managing and planning tour trek and rafting programs and handlings domestic and international air ticketing and reservation.
  •  Able to understand and appreciate the need and functions of tourism marketing, tourism development planning, measurement and management.
  •  Develop a sustainable personality to match the required professional demand of the tourism sector.
  •  Persue further studies in travel and tourism.
  •  In order to attain/achieve the objectives as stated above the students undergoing this BTTM course will require to study twenty seven subjects including management, analytical, compulsory core, core and electives subjects plus industrial attachment and project works and per the details given below.

Eligibility Conditions for Admissions
The candidate applying for BTTM program must have:
- Completed twelve-year schooling (10+2) or equivalent from any university, Board or-
- institution recognized by Tribhuvan University.
- Studied English as full paper at 10+2 or equivalent level.
- Two-passport size photographs.

 

Admission Criteria
Written test: Applications are required to appear in the entrance test conducted by the faculty of management. The test will follow the international testing pattern and standards. It includes areas like:

  • Verbal ability
  • Quantitative ability
  • Logical Reasoning

 

General Awareness

Interview: only short-listed candidates from the written test will be interviewed and selected for admission. Candidates selected for admission will have to produce original certificates/testimonials for all examinations passed at the time of admission. The general teaching methodology includes class lecturers, group discussion, case studies, practical exercise, project work, and term papers. The teaching faculty to the needs of the course will determines the choice of teaching methodology, accordingly.The concerned teacher/instructor shall develop a detailed course outline and work plan the beginning of each semester and also recommend the prescribed text book and other reference materials for teaching-learning of course modules as endorsed by faculties of management.
