Eligibility for Admission
Candidates, who have successfully completed Masteru2019s degree in Public Administration, Business Studies, Management, and Political Science (specialization in public administration) as recognized by Tribhuvan University with at least Second Division. The potential students must have two years work experience either in teaching or in other fields of administration and management. The students must submit the two references u2013 one each from the current employer and the last attended academic institute. Proficiency in English language is essential as it is the language of instruction, examination, and writing term papers and the thesis.
The candidate must have completed minimum 16 years of formal study in relevant field.
M. Sc. Degree with 50% marks in average or a CGPA of 3 or above in 4 point scale or B standing in Grades.
The notification for admission offered by the school under the Department is published in major dailies and is in the website: http:// www.ku.edu.np seeking applications from eligible candidates any time in a year. Collection of applications is followed by an interview/test. The interview/test/presentation is aimed at testing individual's aptitude academic status and diligence in the field in which one is seeking admission and is taken by the relevant department.

The minimum requirement for admission to M.Phil. is at least second division with 50% or a CGPA of 2.5 standing out of 4 or an equivalent grade in Master's level mathematics (MA/MSc./MEd.). The university preserves the right to accept or deny admission on the basis of overall academic and other records and to limit enrollment by selecting from among qualified candidates.
The expected (minimum) number of students for enrollment in full time or part time MPhil. program is five. In case of less number of candidates, the school has the right to decide whether or not to run the program. Program will be run at School of Science, Kathmandu University, Dhulikhel.
Nepali and non-Nepali nationals with:
> A Master's degree in management- related disciplines (including business management, general management, development management and other functional, sectoral or policy management fields); master's degree in engineering, physics, mathematics, statistics and economics-related disciplines; or master's degree in selected social sciences disciplines from the universities recognized by Kathmandu University;*
> Minimum CGPA of 3.25 on a scale of 4.0 or 60 percent in the Master degree;
> Strong quantitative background in graduate and undergraduate level; research aptitude and commitment.
